Session Description
In a world that is seeing less individuals entering the educational career field, the competition between school systems to attract high-quality educators is at an all-time high. This session will provides useful and proven tips on how to leverage social media marketing to drive prospective applicants to a system's career page and increasing applicants. The Choose Jackson Campaign, a 2024 NSPRA Golden Achievement Award winning campaign, will be a resource for this session. Tips that will be discussed is having a vision for the marketing campaign, strategic partnership keys between Public Relations and Human Resources professionals, expanding a social media reach to include varying platforms and building out a comprehensive website page that showcases a school system's offerings, benefits, pay and community, along with an easy apply now link. In a world where finding the best educators is imperative to student success, PR professionals need to strategically market their organization. This session will provide PR professionals tools to be successful.

I am the Director of Public Relations for the Jackson County School System. I serve as a member of Executive Leadership team & Superintendent’s cabinet, where I am responsible for assisting with ensuring we advance the organization’s mission & vision through strategic leadership. I oversee all communication within JCSS, to include strategic communication for the Superintendent, BOE, district office and all member schools. Additionally, I act as the Foundation Director of the JCSS Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to enhancing the educational experience throughout the system.
