Session Description
Budget cuts hitting your professional photography contracts? Learn how you can produce award-winning photos in-house.
This is a practical session designed to help attendees take better photos using the tools they already have, from cellphones to professional cameras. Participants will learn approachable techniques for composition, lighting, editing, and visual storytelling, along with a clear path for growing their skills beyond auto mode.
Attendees will leave with confidence, actionable tips, and strategies they can apply immediately to create more intentional, engaging images.

Danielle Evans is the Digital Media Coordinator for Ascension Public Schools. Originally from Houma, Louisiana, she joined the district in 2018. Danielle is a proud alumna of Nicholls State University, where she graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art with a concentration in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History.
With over a decade of experience in communications, website management, graphic design, and photography, Danielle has worked across both private and nonprofit sectors. At Ascension, her creative work has been recognized nationally, earning more than ten awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). These honors include multiple Awards of Excellence in design, as well as Awards of Merit for website, social media, and photography. She has also received two Golden Achievement Awards—one for leading the conceptual development, design, photography, and assisting communications strategy of a district bond campaign, and another for her comprehensive creative work on a recruitment campaign. She also conducts yearly training for about 75 staff members on website administration and accessibility best practices, serving as both an expert and advocate for ADA compliance.
Danielle is an active member of the professional community, having presented at state-level conferences such as the Louisiana Teacher Leader Summit and the Louisiana School Public Relations Association (LASPRA) annual mini-conference. She currently serves as LASPRA’s Communications Chair.
In addition to her professional contributions, Danielle also volunteers with her local Friends of the Library chapter and is a passionate advocate for reading and literacy. LinkedIn Profile
